Club Training
If you fancy having a go at running, come along for a couple of sessions to see how we do things. There is a large range of abilities, and you will be able to to find a group to accommodate your speed and level of fitness.
If you are new to running, don't forget that everyone was new to it at some point, and other runners will be more than able to help!
The Harriers meet on:
In a typical session, there is a group warm up, constituting of a jog and then some stretches. In winter, this is followed by a short circuit session and then we go out on the roads, or stay in the sports hall to do a speed repetition session. A typical session on the road might be a pyramid session, such as 2 minutes hard, 1minute recovery, up to 4 minutes hard, and then back down to 2 minutes hard. In the summer we do interval training around the grounds of the Athletic Club. The sports hall session usually is in the format of 1 minute of hard running followed by a minutes recovery by as many reps as the coach has planned.
